Real Madrid and Monaco are close to reaching an agreement for the transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni, Goal has confirmed.

Champions League winners Real Madrid will pay around €100 million including signing bonuses for the 22-year-old Monaco midfielder.

The report also adds that French champions Paris Saint-Germain tried to hijack Real Madrid’s move for Tchouameni but the Monaco midfielder rejected their advances.

He also rejected an offer from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool team, with Tchouameni only focused on joining Real Madrid.

Real Madrid switched attention to Tchouameni after Kylian Mbappe turned down a move to Real Madrid in favour of staying at Paris Saint-Germain.

Tchouameni is currently with the France squad as they prepare for their UEFA Nations League matches this month but he will undergo a medical in the coming days and then sign a contract with Real Madrid.
