Why Real Madrid won’t submit a bid for Man City striker Gabriel Jesus and Benfica striker Darwin Nunez

Gabriel Jesus Darwin Nunez

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is a huge fan of Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, who is available this summer.

The Brazilian attacker is keen on leaving Premier League side Manchester City following the arrival of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Despite Real Madrid’s need to sign a striker that can complement Karim Benzema, Real Madrid won’t submit a bid for Gabriel Jesus even though Ancelotti loves the Brazilian.

This is because there is no space currently in the Real Madrid squad for a non-EU player, according to Marca.

The three non-EU slots in the Real Madrid squad is currently occupied by Eder Militao, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

The same also applies for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez who is set to join Premier League side Liverpool.

The lack of a non-EU slot in the Real Madrid squad means Real Madrid can’t enter the race for the Uruguayan striker.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid captain Marcelo has three offers as he prepares to leave Real Madrid at the end of June when his contract expires.
