European and Spanish champions Real Madrid have reached an agreement to sign Spanish U19 international striker Noel Lopez, according to Defensa Central via The Hard Tackle.
Noel Lopez will be Real Madrid Castilla’s first major signing of the summer transfer window.
Lopez will join Real Madrid as a free agent on July 1st when his contract with Deportivo de La Coruna runs out on June 30.
The 19 year old striker has established himself as one of the best young strikers in Spain since joining Deportivo de La Coruna some years ago.
Noel Lopez made 30 appearances for the first-team at Deportivo de La Coruna this season, scoring 4 goals.
With Karim Benzema well into his thirties, Lopez will be hoping he becomes Benzema’s heir in the near future.
Real Madrid Castilla boss and club legend Raul Gonzalez reportedly requested Real Madrid president Florentino Perez sign Lopez.
The Hard Tackle also adds that Lopez’s arrival will also help mitigate the potential departure of Juanmi Latasa, who recently emerged on the radar of Rayo Vallecano.
Juanmi Latasa is attracting interest from Rayo Vallecano after scoring 13 goals in 30 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla last season.
Latasa switched to Real Madrid in February 2022 from Real Madrid II, for whom he made 50 league appearances in total, scoring 17 goals.
The 21 year old attacker debuted in a Primera División game for Real Madrid on May 15, 2022 as a substitute versus Cádiz at the age of 21 years and 53 days.
This game remains the only one that Latasa has played in the competition.
Juanmi Latasa will be a part of Carlo Ancelotti’s pre-season campaign with the Real Madrid first team.
And Los Blancos will subsequently decide whether he becomes Benzema’s understudy or leaves on loan in the summer transfer window.
