Wales star Gareth Bale will leave Spanish giants Real Madrid after nine illustrious years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Bale’s Real Madrid contract will expire at the end of June and during his time as a Real Madrid player, he picked up five Champions League medals and three La Liga titles.
The 32-year-old has not yet chosen his next destination but former Wales striker Dean Saunders has revealed the perfect club for Bale.
According to Saunders, Premier League club Newcastle United would be the perfect move for Gareth Bale once his Real Madrid contract expires at the end of June.
“If I could pick a club for him to go to now, I’d say sign for Newcastle,” Saunders told talkSPORT.
“They’ve got a project; they’re going in the right direction – he would slot in.
“The fans right now in Newcastle, because I’ve been there and I worked there – and I realise how much they love the club – right now they could sell 80,000 season tickets.”
Bale was linked with a move to Newcastle United in the January window but a move failed to materialise as Bale had no plans to leave Real Madrid in mid-season.
Saudi-backed Newcastle United are expected to make a move for Bale again this summer.
A move to hometown club Cardiff City has also been mooted but nothing has materialised so far.
Getafe president Angel Torres recently claimed that Bale’s agent had been in touch to offer his services to Getafe.
Torres said: “They have offered him to me and I have kindly listened… Anything is possible.”
Bale was asked about Torres’ comments ahead of Wales’ UEFA Nations League clash against Belgium.
The 32-year-old laughed at the question, saying: “I’m not going to Getafe, that’s for sure.”
One of Bale’s representatives, Joshua Barnett, had already dismissed the Getafe chief’s claim, saying: “I don’t even have the president of Getafe’s number.”
Bale was recently asked if he had received any offers ahead of his Real Madrid exit at the end of June, he replied: “Yeah, I’ve got loads.”
