Premier League champions Manchester City are interested in signing 19 year old Real Madrid winger Peter Federico Gonzalez.

According to Defensa Central via The Hard Tackle, Manchester City have made contact with the 19 year old winger.

Peter Federico Gonzalez impressed for Real Madrid Castilla last season under Raul Gonzalez.

He made 36 league appearances for the Real Madrid Castilla side last season, bagging three goals and seven assists in the process.

He also played seven times in the UEFA Youth League and managed two goals and assists apiece.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti rewarded the 19 year old winger for his impressive form with the Real Madrid Castilla with 3 first-team appearances last season.

Peter Federico Gonzalez is highly-rated by the coaches at Real Madrid and is seen as one of the finest prospects to have come through the ranks in recent years.

Manchester City have monitored the progress of the 19 year and are reportedly keen on signing him this summer.

Manchester City have already made a proposal to the 19-year-old Peter which would see him join the English champions before heading out on loan to their sister club Girona in Spain to get regular minutes under his belt.

Despite interest from Manchester City in signing Peter, Real Madrid are reportedly not worried about losing the winger as he has contract with a €50million release clause which expires in the summer of 2024.

While Peter is happy to remain at Real Madrid and break into the first-team, he is also aware that Real Madrid’s Castilla has always been more of a selling academy than one with a great success rate of developing first team players.

The last academy players to make an impact at Real Madrid are Dani Carvajal (30), Lucas Vazquez (30) and Nacho Fernandez (32). Only the former has ever asserted himself as a starter too.

Real Madrid plan to keep Peter with the Castilla side for another year before integrating him into the senior setup, although a loan move to another La Liga club is not ruled out.

Peter has been a part of Real Madrid’s academy since 2015, when he arrived from Getafe.
