Italian clubs Inter Milan and AS Roma are interested in a summer move for Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez.

Inter Milan and Roma believe Nacho could be available this summer following the arrival of Antonio Rudiger on a free transfer from Chelsea.

Nacho will be fourth-choice centre-back at Real Madrid next season behind David Alaba, Eder Militao and Rudiger.

Despite the possibility of having a reduced playing time next season, Nacho is reportedly not thinking about leaving Real Madrid this summer.

The 32 year old is a Real Madrid academy graduate and has spent his entire playing career at Real Madrid.

Born in Madrid, he joined the club’s youth system at eleven and graduated to Castilla at the age of 19. He made his Real Madrid first-team debut two years later and has since played 275 games for the club.

He has won five Champions League trophies with Real Madrid and remains keen on staying at the club despite interest from Inter Milan and Roma.

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has revealed how Nacho and Marcelo ingrained the Real Madrid winning mentality into him after he arrived the club from Santos.

Rodrygo said: “In my debut with Real Madrid, in the preseason, I scored a free-kick against Bayern and I celebrated it.

“When I got to the locker room, Marcelo and Nacho told me ‘if you’re losing and scoring, take the ball and go to the center of the field, don’t celebrate it’.”

Meanwhile, according to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are set to reward Nacho with a new contract.

Despite interest from Inter Milan and Roma, the 32 year old is close to agreeing a new contract with Real Madrid.

While he has never exactly been an undisputed start for Los Blancos, the Spaniard has been more than a handy squad player who has found favour under each of the managers that he has worked with during his time in the first team.

He has made 272 appearances for Real Madrid, chalking up 15 goals and registering eight assists as well.
