Brazil international Vinicius Junior has explained why he’s committing his future to Real Madrid.
The 21 year old, who is currently on holiday in Brazil, is set to sign a new Real Madrid contract until 2027.
His release clause in his Real Madrid contract would rise from €350 million to €1billion.
Asked why he was renewing his Real Madrid contract despite a huge offer from PSG, Vinicius Junior Sport TV’s ‘Bem, Amigos!’ show: “”I want to stay at the best club in the world.”
PSG reportedly pestered Vinicius Junior for the last seven months, frequently asking the Brazilian not to renew his contract at Real Madrid.
According to Marca, PSG have been in constant communication with Vinicius since November 2021 and have been urging him not to sign a new deal in Madrid.
The report claims PSG offered Vinicius Junior an eye-watering contract of €40million yearly, which is 4 times the new deal he’s set to sign with Real Madrid.
Marca also adds that Vinicius Junior rejected approaches from Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Vinicius Junior also explained the difference in style of play between the Brazilian national team under Tite and the Real Madrid team under Carlo Ancelotti.
“In the Brazilian national team we play higher up and Tite asks us to attack a lot, whereas at Real Madrid I stay a bit further back,” Vinicius explained.
Vinicius also drew parallels between Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid and Brazil’s head coach Tite.
“They speak directly, they both like each other and speak directly,” Vinicius stated.
Vinicius Junior contributed 22 goals and 20 assists in all competitions and scored the only goal of the game as Los Blancos defeated Liverpool in the Champions League final.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez recently hailed Vinicius as a future Ballon d’Or winner in an interview with El Chiringuito.
“Nobody wants to sell Vinicius,” Perez said. “I think he’s going to be the Ballon d’Or for sure, like Benzema is going to be now. I think he will be amazing. The 18-year-old boy who came to Castilla, he is not the one we know now. Every year he improves.
“Are there problems renewing Vinicius? None. He always says that he will not move from Madrid.”
