According to Gianluca di Marzio, Italian side Fiorentina are positive about signing Luka Jovic from Real Madrid this summer.

Fiorentina and Real Madrid are holding direct talks over a possible loan deal for Luka Jovic in the summer transfer window.

Fiorentina want Real Madrid to pay part of the out-of-favour Serbian forward’s wages, with the 24 year old open to moving to Italy.

Jovic has failed to make a consistent impact in Madrid following his highly anticipated €60m move from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019.

The Serbian international has scored just three La Liga goals for Real Madrid since joining the club three years ago and Real Madrid are open to the striker leaving this summer.

Last season, he played a total of 549 minutes, spread out over 19 games and contributed one goal and three assists.

Jovic has more yellow cards than goals for Real Madrid, which tells all about his struggles in Spain

Fiorentina want Jovic to replace Dusan Vlahovic, who left for Juventus during the January transfer window.

Reports in Serbia even suggest Fiorentina have reached an agreement to take Jovic on loan from Real Madrid, paying only half his salary.

Meanwhile, media outlet AS claim Turkish club Besiktas are interested in signing Jovic on a season-long loan deal.

Besiktas are in the market for a new centre-forward this summer and have several names on their shortlist.

Besiktas are currently working hard on the transfers of Alexander Sorloth and Wout Weghorst but will switch attention to Jovic if they are unable to reach an agreement with both players.

While Jovic hasn’t shown his worth at Real Madrid, Brazilian centre-back Eder Militao believes he has shown his worth at Real Madrid after a key role for the club last season.

“When [Ramos and Varane] left, people stressed because they had made so much history at the club,” Militao told Marca on vacation in Ibiza.

“I thought that my time had come to do things well and show the fans, as well as the whole world, that they could also count on me. And I have put together great displays and shown why I am at Real Madrid.

“I have demonstrated [why he cost €50m]. Things did not go well when I arrived because I had two centre-backs ahead of me who had been together for a long time. Now I have shown the reason for my signing.”
