Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar is reportedly available for sale this summer, according to reports.
French champions Paris Saint-Germain are open to selling Neymar during the summer transfer window if an acceptable bid is lodged, according to Goal.
Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in the summer of 2017 for €222million, which remains the world transfer record.
The transfer was a serious statement of intent from the Ligue 1 club to cement their position as an European heavyweight.
However, Paris Saint-Germain are now open to selling Neymar for the right price this summer after a turbulent 2021-22 campaign.
Despite winning the French Ligue 1 last season, the PSG board are reportedly unhappy with the team’s performance last season given their early Champions League exit to Real Madrid.
The 30 year old Brazilian was heavily criticised by Paris Saint-Germain fans after their collapse against Real Madrid in the round of 16.
The Paris Saint-Germain board are also reportedly unhappy with Neymar’s attitude and on-field stagnation.
When Paris Saint-Germain broke the world record for Neymar in 2017, it was believed coming out of Lionel Messi’s shadow at Barcelona will propel him into becoming the best player in the world.
The Brazilian started brightly at Paris Saint-Germain with plenty of goals and assists in his first two seasons in France.
However, it is believed the 30 year old Brazilian international has stagnated at Paris Saint-Germain after his first two seasons.
Fitness issues and a lack of discipline has been a familiar story with Neymar at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brazilian failed to score any goal in the Champions League last season for Paris Saint-Germain in 6 appearance.
Despite PSG’s desire to move him on, Neymar reportedly does not wish to depart Parc des Princes and intends to continue with PSG next season.
Neymar only penned fresh terms last year, to take him through 2025 at the French club.
Real Madrid are no longer interested in signing Neymar as the club currently have Vinicius Junior, who is destined to be a Ballon d’Or winner in future.
