Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed Brazilian star Vinicius Junior told him that he never wants to leave Real Madrid.
“We’ve no problem for Vinicius’ contract extension,” said Perez.
“We’re on it. No issues. He received some proposals, but in the end he’s always said, ‘I only want to stay at Real Madrid.’”
“I am 100% sure Vinicius will be Ballon d’Or one day.”
Last season across all competitions, Vinicius featured in 52 matches for Real Madrid.
He scored a total of 21 goals and provided 16 assists in what was a sensational season for the breakout 21-year-old.
Vinicius Junior has two years remaining on his current deal but has agreed terms with Real Madrid on a new contract.
Vinicius is expected to sign a contract with Real Madrid until 2027 with a release clause of €1billion.
“I will continue at the biggest club in the world, Real Madrid,” Vinicius confirmed to Sportv recently, with an announcement on his deal expected in the near future.
Vinicius Junior celebrated the one anniversary of his charity, the Instituto Vini Jr on Friday.
The anniversary celebration included an auction that raised around $125,000 for the organisation, which seeks to use technology and sport to help educate children in Brazil.
“I’ve always dreamed of this moment that’s happening here,” Vinícius told those present at the gala.
“I’ve always dreamed of fulfilling my family’s dream of helping those who are in as much need as I was when I was little.
“It’s only been a year since we started our work at the Instituto Vini Jr, but we’re already helping a lot of people.”
He then told AS: “For me, celebrating the first anniversary of my charity and everything we’re doing is just as important as scoring in the Champions League final.”
“It’s been a really special season and now I want more,” he added.
