Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Deportivo La Coruna to sign forward Noel Lopez.
This has been confirmed by Deportivo La Coruna, who revealed they have reached an agreement to sell the striker to Real Madrid.
The 19-year-old forward has caught the eye of Los Blancos after being one the biggest talents to come out of Deportivo’s academy in recent years.
Already a mainstay of Spain’s under-19 national side, Lopez excelled for Deportivo in the Spanish third tier last season, making 28 appearances and scoring four goals.
“Noel Lopez has put an end to his formative career at RC Deportivo to continue it at Real Madrid,” a club statement read.
“Respecting the will of the player in the penultimate year of his amateur contract, both clubs have reached an agreement for the transfer of the footballer.
“In addition to agreeing on different variables which depend on how the Galician attacker’s career develops in the future.”
Real Madrid are expected to send Noel straight to the Castilla side but he could be given minutes in the first team if Carlo Ancelotti loses the majority of his striker options.
Real Madrid forwards Mariano Diaz, Luka Jovic and Borja Mayoral all want to leave Real Madrid this summer.
If they all leave, Carlo Ancelotti could be left with Karim Benzema as the only senior striker in his squad.
Real Madrid Castilla striker Juanmi Latasa has been touted as a possible option for the first team, and now Noel could be used as well.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly considering a shock bid for Tottenham forward and Premier League Golden Boot winner Son Heung-min.
Son, 29, enjoyed a standout year in the Premier League for Tottenham last season – scoring 23 goals on his way to the golden boot, which was shared with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
