Spanish and European champions Real Madrid are reportedly closely monitoring the situation of 25-year-old Belgian playmaker Youri Tielemans at Leicester City.
Tielemans has just one year left on his Leicester City contract and is refusing to sign a new contract with the Premier League club.
According to media outlet Defensa Central via The Hard Tackle, Tielemans is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible Bosman move in the 2023 summer transfer window.
Tielemans has established himself as one of the best playmakers in the Premier League since joining Leicester City from AS Monaco.
The 25-year-old first joined Leicester City on loan for the second half of the 2018/19 season before completing a permanent transfer in July 2019.
Tielemans has made 157 appearances for Leicester City, scoring 24 goals and providing 24 assists.
With his contract set to expire next year, Real Madrid are closely monitoring the midfielder and will like to sign him as a free agent next summer just as we signed Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea.
Real Madrid considered signing Tielemans this summer but the club have plenty of central midfielders in the squad following the arrival of €100million Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco.
Following the arrival of Tchouameni, Real Madrid currently have seven central midfielders fighting for just three spots in the starting XI.
With Toni Kroos and Luka Modric having just one year left on their contracts, Real Madrid will need to sign a midfielder next summer.
Meanwhile, former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has revealed Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is like the little brother he never had.
According to Zidane, he has a close relationship with the Real Madrid striker.
In an interview with L’Équipe, Zidane was asked whether his relationship with Benzema goes beyond the pitch.
He responded: “There is affection. Karim is like the little brother I never had. I am the youngest in my family.”
