Real Madrid defender Mario Gila is close to leaving the Spanish capital for Italian side Lazio, according to media outlet Marca.

Real Madrid will reserve 50 per cent of the rights of the 21 year old defender with Lazio having the other 50 per cent.

Real Madrid will also have a right of first refusal on the 21 year old defender.

Mario Gila joined the Real Madrid academy in 2018 and made swift progress at the club, becoming a pivotal figure for Real Madrid Castilla.

He made his first-team debut against Espanyol last season and made another appearance against Levante.

Gila, whose current contract ends in 2024, has been valued at €10million, with Lazio now set to pay €5million for his transfer and 50 per cent of his rights.

Celta Vigo, Rayo Vallecano, Sassuolo and Getafe were all interested in signing Gila this summer but it is Lazio that have now won the race for his signature.

Lazio initially wanted to sign Mario Gila in a loan deal while reserving the option to sign him permanently from Real Madrid next year before opting to sign him permanently.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid president have given Dani Ceballos, Luka Jovic and Marco Asensio the greenlight to leave the club this summer.

Italian club Fiorentina are already in talks with Real Madrid to sign Jovic on a season-long loan deal.

Jovic has failed to replicate the form that earned him a move to Real Madrid. After scoring 40 goals in 91 appearances for Eintracht he’s hit a measly 3 in 51 for Madrid.

Dani Ceballos has just one year left on his Real Madrid contract and Real are open to selling the player this summer to avoid losing him for free next summer.

Following the arrival of Tchouameni, Ceballos will be seventh choice behind Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga and Tchouameni.

Marco Asensio also has just one year left on his Real Madrid contract and is expected to leave the club this summer.

Despite his talent, Asensio has never quite managed to establish himself as a guaranteed starter at the Spanish capital.

Italian champions AC Milan and Premier League club Liverpool are interested in signing Asensio this summer.
