Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has revealed he misses former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.
After 16 years at Real Madrid, Ramos left the club last summer following the expiration of his contract for French club Paris Saint-Germain.
He made 469 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 72 goals in the La Liga.
Luka Modric admits he became great friends with Sergio Ramos after he joined Real Madrid from Tottenham.
He also admits it’s difficult for him coming to training sessions and knowing Ramos is no longer a Real Madrid player.
Luka Modric said, as per Madrid Xtra: “It’s difficult for me to come to training knowing Sergio Ramos is not there anymore.
“From the first day he was close to me, helped me to adapt, cheered me and believed in my potential. We became great friends.”
He added: “Sergio Ramos and I still call each other every day. I miss hanging out with him, but that’s how it is in football.”
Real Madrid signed Ramos from Sevilla in the summer of 2005 for €27 million, the highest transfer fee a Spanish club had ever paid for a defender at the time.
Despite only being 19, Ramos was immediately assigned the legendary Fernando Hierro’s old No. 4 shirt.
Ramos has won 22 major trophies during his glittering career at the Bernabeu, including 5 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Reys and 4 Champions Leagues.
