Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao has signed a new Real Madrid contract after playing a key role in the La Liga and Champions League successes last season.

According to Nathan Gissing, Eder Militao has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to extend his contract until 2028.

An official announcement of the new contract is expected to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Militao believes his performances last season shows he’s worth the €50million spent on signing him from Porto in 2019.

When Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos left last summer, there was fear that Real Madrid’s back line would suffer.

However, the partnership of Militao and David Alaba in the heart of the Real Madrid defence ensured the team remained one of La Liga’s most reliable defences on the way to a title triumph.

Militao also started every game as Real Madrid won the Champions League last season.

“When [Ramos and Varane] left, people stressed because they had made so much history at the club,” Militao told Marca.

“I thought that my time had come to do things well and show the fans, as well as the whole world, that they could also count on me. And I have put together great displays and shown why I am at Real Madrid.

“I have demonstrated [why he cost €50m]. Things did not go well when I arrived because I had two centre-backs ahead of me who had been together for a long time. Now I have shown the reason for my signing.”
