Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz has been told he can leave the club for free, according to media outlet AS.
Despite Real Madrid’s willingness to let Mariano leave for free, clubs are reluctant to sign the forward due to his wage demands.
The Spanish-Dominican striker is demanding a salary of at least €5million yearly from interested clubs and no club is willing to pay that.
Turkish club Fenerbahce has offered Mariano Diaz close to the €5million per year salary that he is demanding but the Real Madrid forward isn’t willing to earn less.
Fenerbahce has offered Mariano a two year contract worth €4million a year with an option of a third year.
However, the 28 year old Real Madrid striker rejected the offer from Fenerbahce as he wants a minimum of €5million yearly contract.
Mariano Diaz is reportedly willing to stay back at Real Madrid and spend the final year of his contract instead of leaving this summer to earn less.
It is claimed Mariano Diaz is ready to stay at Real Madrid without playing any football under Carlo Ancelotti next season instead of leaving the club this summer to earn less.
Mariano returned to Real Madrid in 2018 for €23million after a successful year at Lyon but has started just 12 La Liga games over the past four years.
He has featured in a total of 59 games for Real Madrid since 2018, scoring just 7 goals.
28 year old Mariano played just 11 games across all competitions for Real Madrid last season, scoring only once.
