23 year old Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is set to remain at the club next season after holding talks with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.
According to media outlet AS, Andriy Lunin had a conversation with Carlo Ancelotti after the end of the season which cleared all his doubts.
During talks between Ancelotti and Lunin at the end of last season, Ancelotti promised the goalkeeper that he would play more next season.
Lunin’s father wanted him to leave Real Madrid to get more minutes next season but the 23 year old Ukraine international goalkeeper resisted as he wants to fulfill his dream of succeeding as a starter at Real Madrid.
La Liga side Espanyol and Premier League side West Ham were interested in signing the Real Madrid goalkeeper this summer.
Lunin was expected to leave Real Madrid this summer on loan after making just four appearances in all competitions last season.
Lunin has had three spells away on loan, having spent time at Leganes, Real Valladolid and Real Oviedo but has stayed put at the Bernabeu for the last two years.
Lunin’s Real Madrid contract expires in 2024.
Lunin signed for Real Madrid from Zorya Luhansk in the summer of 2018.
