Real Madrid star Rodrygo has agreed to extend his Real Madrid contract until the summer of 2028, according to media outlet Marca.

His current contract is due to expire in 2025 and the Brazilian have now reached an agreement to extend the contract until 2028.

Rodrygo played a big role in Real Madrid’s latest Champions League triumph, scoring important goals against Chelsea in the quarter finals before netting a crucial brace against Manchester City late on in the semi finals.

Rodrygo is expected to sign the new contract with Real Madrid later this week which has a release clause of €1billion.

The new contract will reportedly see Rodrygo rewarded with a significant increase to his current salary.

Several Premier League clubs tried to lure the Brazilian but he only wanted to remain at Real Madrid and extend his contract.

Meanwhile, mega-rich Premier League side Newcastle United are interested in signing Isco after his contract at Real Madrid expired this summer.

Isco left Real Madrid this summer after nine years at the club following the expiration of his contract.

Isco is also understood to be attracting interest from Italian side AS Roma.

Isco is a serial winner who has won the La Liga title three times, the Copa del Rey once, and the UEFA Champions League on five occasions with Real Madrid.
