Real Madrid will face serious competition for the signature of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in the summer of 2023, according to The Athletic.
The report claims Real Madrid will battle with Premier League sides Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United for the 19 year old Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham doesn’t have a release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract and The Athletic reveal it will take at least €120million to sign the England international.
Having already sold Erling Haaland to Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund don’t intend to lose another star name in the same window but are open to selling Bellingham next summer.
Real Madrid view Bellingham as the long-term replacement for Luka Modric, who turns 37 next season.
While Modric is still performing at a world-class level, it isn’t stopping Real Madrid from making moves for his replacement.
The contract of Modric will expire in the summer of 2023, the same summer when Bellingham will be available.
Bellingham already has 15 caps for the English national team despite his tender age.
He’s made 89 appearances for Dortmund since joining them from his hometown club Birmingham City and has contributed ten goals and 18 assists to the German club.
Bellingham is widely regarded as a world-class player despite being only 19 and has three years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract.
