Real Madrid can sign Manchester City star Erling Haaland in 2025 for £150million, according to media outlet Marca.
Erling Haaland always includes release clause in his contracts and his deal with Manchester City is said to be no different.
Haaland’s Manchester City contract has two release clauses. The first of £172m triggered in 2024 – drops by £22m from 2025, opening the door to any potential suitors.
Real Madrid were interested in signing Haaland before his move to Manchester City but the club missed out on the striker after focusing on signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
There was a release clause in his deal to go from Red Bull Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund which Manchester City triggered this summer for £51million.
Erling Haaland joined Manchester City this summer as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football after scoring 83 goals in 87 games for Borussia Dortmund.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has also revealed Karim Benzema was the reason why Real Madrid didn’t push to sign Erling Haaland.
Perez said in interview with El Chiringuito: “We have the best 9 in the world and we weren’t going to bring in Haaland to have him on the bench, right?
“Clause in two years? I don’t know. We have no interest now other than to build the new team with the youngsters we have and some reinforcement.”
Should Real Madrid need to replace Benzema in 2024 when his contract expires, Real Madrid can sign Haaland for £172million in the summer of 2024.
