German champions Bayern Munich are fighting to stop Serge Gnabry from joining Spanish and European champions Real Madrid this summer.
Serge Gnabry has just one year left on his Bayern Munich contract and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.
Gnabry has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from Bayern Munich with the Germany international keen on leaving the German club this summer.
According to German media outlet Sport1, Bayern Munich want to sit down with Gnabry and his agent in the coming days to make a quick decision on the player’s future.
For Bayern Munich, it’s essential to avoid another free transfer. It’s either Bayern Munich extend Gnabry’s contract or sell the forward this summer but they are optimistic that he will finally extend.
Meanwhile, Luka Modric has hailed the qualities of new Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
Real Madrid paid French club Monaco €100million for the transfer of Aurelien Tchouameni this summer and Luka Modric admits he can’t wait to play with the France international.
Modric said, according to Madrid Xtra: “Tchouameni? He’s extremely physically powerful, but he’s also good on the ball, calm.
“He will bring us a lot of new energy and I can’t wait to play together.”
Real Madrid currently have Modric, Toni Kroos, Casemiro, Federico Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni and Dani Ceballos as central midfielders.
Modric believes competition is a good thing as it encourages a player to be better.
He added: “Competition at Real Madrid? I think that’s a good thing, it only encourages you to be better. It happens to me too, I improved in numbers this season! I feel great.”
