Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has no plans for Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz next season, according to media outlet AS.
Mariano Diaz has struggled to make an impact since returning to Real Madrid from Lyon in 2018.
With Luka Jovic set to join Italian side Fiorentina permanently in the coming days, Ancelotti still doesn’t intend to use Mariano Diaz as back-up to first-choice striker Karim Benzema next season.
Carlo Ancelotti reportedly prefers Borja Mayoral, who spent the second-half of last season on loan at Getafe, where he he scored 6 goals in 18 appearances.
Meanwhile, media outlet Marca claim Real Madrid Castilla striker Latasa will take the place of Jovic and become Benzema’s back-up next season.
Latasa scored 13 goals last season in Raul Gonzalez’s Castilla side and has impressed enough to earn a shot in the first team.
He made his Real Madrid first-team debut last season against Cádiz at the Nuevo Mirandilla, on matchday 37 of LaLiga.
