Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is keen on signing Chelsea right-back Reece James

The 22 year old is an attacking right-back and has all the qualities to be a Real Madrid player.

Despite being an important player for Chelsea, Reece James is among the lowest earners at the Premier League club and Perez is ready to pay him what he deserves at Real Madrid.

Chelsea have handed Real Madrid a significant blow in the club’s interest in full-back James, according to iNews.

According to the report, Chelsea are now keen to extend the contract of Reece James amid interest from Real Madrid and talks are expected to take place within the next few weeks.

Although the right-back has three years remaining on his existing £80,000 per week deal, Chelsea are keen to tie him to the club until his late 20s.

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is said to be a huge admirer of the full-back and wants to secure his long-term future at the club.

Though he has plenty of time remaining on his contract which expires in 2025, James is said to be keen to discuss fresh terms and his team have been preparing for talks.

The new Chelsea owner sees James as an important part of Chelsea’s future and is now keen to secure the future of the 22 year old amid interest from Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, three Real Madrid players – Rodrygo, Vinicius Junior and Eder Militao – are all set to sign new Real Madrid contracts in the coming days.

Vinicius Junior will sign until 2027, Rodrygo will sign until 2028 and Eder Militao will sign until 2028.

All three contracts will have a release clause of €1billion to prevent clubs like Paris Saint-Germain from hijacking any of these players.

All three players have reached an agreement with Real Madrid and they are expected to put pen to paper in the coming days.
