Real Madrid star and Brazilian international Rodrygo has revealed former Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo made him fall in love with Real Madrid.

Rodrygo told ABC: “Cristiano Ronaldo made me fall in love with Real Madrid. I already liked it, but it was with him that I became most interested in Real Madrid.”

Rodrygo also confirmed he will be signing a new Real Madrid contract until the summer of 2028.

He added: “I’ve been here for three years and I’m going to renew. Real Madrid is my dream.”

Rodrygo also gave his verdict on Marco Asensio’s Real Madrid future. The Spain international has just one year left on his contract.

Rodrygo said: “If he is with us, it will help us a lot, but the issue of his renewal is not my business. It’s a Marco issue.”

Rodrygo also responded to claims that Real Madrid’s Champions League success was luck.

Real Madrid came from behind to beat French champions Paris Saint-Germain, former Champions League winners Chelsea and Premier League champions Manchester City before beating Liverpool in the final.

Rodrygo said: “Lucky? What they say doesn’t matter to us. It wasn’t luck, it was work. Once it can be lucky. Three, it’s not. We deserved it.”

Rodrygo scored two late goals against Manchester City at the Bernabeu which helped Real Madrid progress to the final.

Speaking about the Manchester City game, Rodrygo said: “The City game? I watched the last five minutes of the game every day of my holidays, and I think my father more than a thousand times.”
