Real Madrid have confirmed the transfer of Luka Jovic to Italian club Fiorentina.

Jovic joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 after excelling with German club Eintracht Frankfurt. However, he has failed to make an impact at Real Madrid.

He returned to Frankfurt on loan last season but has now left the Bernabeu permanently, signing a two-year deal with Fiorentina.

Real’s statement reads: “Real Madrid C. F. and ACF Fiorentina have agreed a deal for the transfer of Luka Jović.

“Our club would like to express its gratitude for his work and dedication during his time at Real Madrid, where he has won 1 Champions League, 2 LaLiga titles and 2 Spanish Super Cups.

“Real Madrid wishes him and his family all the best in this new period of his life.”

Jović will initially join on a 2-year deal, with Fiorentina and Madrid each paying half of his €5 million salary.

After two seasons, if Jovic opts to continue at Fiorentina, the Italian side will reportedly pay him €6million yearly.

Meanwhile, former Real Madrid midfielder Isco has turned down a move to Italian club AS Roma.

Isco, whose contract with Real expired at the end of June, was wanted by the Italian club but has ruled it out.

Despite the offer of a lucrative contract from Roma, Isco isn’t convinced he should join the Italian club.

Jose Mourinho pushed hard to convince Isco to come to Roma but it’s understood that he wants to either stay in La Liga or join a club that can offer him Champions League football.

Spanish sides Sevilla and Real Betis have already indicated their interest in signing the former Real star with Premier League side Newcastle United also interested.
