Premier League side Chelsea are showing interest in signing Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez, according to The Hard Tackle.
Chelsea are desperately looking to add reinforcements to their backline this summer and have identified 32 year old Nacho Fernandez as a possible signing.
Chelsea lost Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen to Barcelona this summer. The Premier League side are keen on replacing both defenders this summer.
Chelsea have already made moves to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt, Sevilla defender Jules Kounde and Manchester City defender Nathan Ake.
While Chelsea are close to signing Ake from Manchester City, they are facing troubles in their pursuit of De Ligt and Kounde.
Following Chelsea’s difficulties in signing De Ligt and Kounde, the Blues are ready to shift focus to other targets, and Nacho has emerged as one.
The 32-year-old is a Real Madrid youth product and has been with the club since 2001. He rose through the youth ranks to make his first-team debut in the 2010/11 season.
In 12 seasons since, Nacho has made 275 appearances for the club, playing all across the back-line to help the club’s cause.
Nacho Fernandez has just one year left on his Real Madrid contract and Chelsea believe he might be interested in a Premier League move.
Inter Milan and AS Roma have also been linked with a move for Nacho.
