Real Madrid defender defender Nacho Fernandez has issued a rallying call ahead of the 2022-23 season.

The 32 year old Real Madrid defender was among the players that returned for pre-season training on Friday.

Real Madrid dominated the 2021-22 season, with the Los Blancos winning the La Liga title and Champions League.

Real Madrid have already strengthened the squad during the summer by signing Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco and Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea.

“Hello Madridistas. We are back to work and back home,” Nacho declared.

“We really want to do another season full of titles and great moments.”

The Real Madrid players that returned for pre-season training on Friday are: Courtois, Lunin, Lucas Vázquez, Nacho, Vallejo, Mendy, Kroos, Ceballos, Mariano, Borja Mayoral, Kubo, Reinier and Odriozola.

They were accompanied by several youth gems from Castilla: goalkeeper Luis López, defenders Vinicius Tobías and Rafa Marín, midfielder Blanco and striker Latasa.

Players who played international football during the summer were given  a few more days off to compensate for those extra days of work. The South Americans are expected back this Sunday, while the Europeans on Thursday 14.

The players that returned for pre-season training on Friday had to undergo medical checkups on Friday morning.

The group then headed straight for training after undergoing their medical checkups.

The session began with a warm-up and ball-retention drills. The group then moved onto possession and pressing exercises and played a game on a smaller pitch. The players ended the session with a series of resistence drills.
