Chelsea star Ben Chilwell reveals what he thinks of Antonio Rudiger joining Real Madrid

Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell has claimed Antonio Rudiger will be difficult to replace at Stamford Bridge after the centre-back sealed a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Antonio Rudiger was a key player for Chelsea before he left the Premier League side for Real Madrid this summer.

Chilwell said of Real Madrid defender Rudiger in an interview with The Guardian: “Of course he’s going to be difficult to replace. Toni was one of the most influential players in the team last year, not just for his performances on the pitch, which were amazing week in, week out.

“Around the training ground, then the dressing room before games making sure that everyone keeps their standards – I’ve only got good things to say about Toni.

“I think Chelsea will always have a place in his heart. But it was probably a dream for him to move to Madrid so good luck to him.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have no interest in bringing PSG defender Sergio Ramos back to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, according to The Hard Tackle.

Ramos left Real Madrid for French champions Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent last summer after 16 years at the Spanish capital.

The 36 year old centre-back could soon be surplus to requirements after Paris Saint-Germain appointed Christophe Galtier as their new manager.

Ramos is one of the most successful players in Real Madrid’s history, with the 36 year old centre-back making 671 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 101 goals and providing 40 assists.

His time at Real Madrid came to an end last summer after he failed to reach an agreement with Real Madrid over the terms of a new contract.

His move to Paris Saint-Germain has not worked out due to a spate of fitness issues that restricted him to just 12 appearance in the league last season.

Real Madrid have moved on from the era of Ramos and see no need to bring the centre-back back to the club after winning the Champions League and La Liga with the centre-back pairing of David Alaba and Eder Militao last season.

With Antonio Rudiger arriving from Chelsea as a free agent this summer, Real Madrid are even more equipped for the new season.
