Andri Gudjohnsen is very close to leaving Real Madrid this summer, according to Swedish media outlet Expressen.

The 20 year old Real Madrid Castilla forward is close to joining Sweden first division club Norrköping.

Andri, who is already an Iceland international, is leaving Real Madrid after dropping down the pecking order in the Castilla squad.

Andri lost his place in the centre-forward role to Latasa and also lost his place in the right side of attack to Álvaro Rodríguez.

Andri Gudjohnsen’s move to Norrköping is almost finalised. Norrköping is a historic Swedish club with 13 league titles, but have only won once since 1989, in 2015.

The Icelandic international will undergo a medical in the coming days with the transfer expected to be announced by the Allsvenskan club this week.

Andri is a big striker, standing 1.88m tall, and his heading is one of his strengths. He made 21 appearance for the Real Madrid Castilla team but started just 4 games. He came off the bench to score four goals.

Despite his young age, Andri is already an Iceland international, having made his international debut as a 19 year old. He has made 9 appearances for the Iceland national team, scoring 2 goals.

Andri is the son of former Barcelona, Monaco and Chelsea player Eidur Gudjohnsen.
