Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez has revealed PSG forward Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid when his current contract expires in 2025.

Mbappe came close to joining Real Madrid this summer only for the 22 year old France international to extend his contract with PSG until 2025.

Sanchez believes that – with Mbappe’s new deal at Parc des Princes only taking him through to the age of 26 in 2025 – another opportunity will present itself in which to get a deal done.

Sanchez, who hit 208 goals for Los Blancos across 283 appearances between 1985 and 1992, told Radio Marca: “Mbappe has not said a firm no to Madrid, he had to say ‘no’ due to social, political and family pressure.

“But knowing him, I am sure that one day he will play for Real Madrid.”

Real Madrid pushed to sign Mbappe in the summer of 2021, with reports claiming Los Blancos offered a €220 million (£189m/$260m) for the France international.

No deal was done, with PSG adamant throughout that they would eventually thrash out an extension to an expiring contract.

With Mbappe’s contract expiring and the forward getting close to joining Los Blancos as a free agent in the summer of 2022, France president Emmanuel Macron contacted Mbappe and persuaded the forward to extend his PSG contract.

Since joining PSG from Monaco in 2018, Mbappe has scored 106 goals in 115 league games for the French champions.
