Real Madrid considered bringing back Brahim Diaz from his loan spell at AC Milan to help get his career back on track, according to media outlet AS.

The 23 year old first joined AC Milan on loan in 2020, then extended it for another two years at a cost of €3million. The Italians have an option to buy for €22m, with Real Madrid retaining a counter-option at €27m.

Brahim Diaz impressed in his first season on loan at AC Milan, resulting in the new two-year loan. However, last season was a disappointment for the 23 year old midfielder as he started the season well and then completely faded.

He scored four goals and created two assists in the first nine games for AC Milan last season before COVID stopped him for a month.

Diaz was never quite the same after recovering from a bout of COVID but AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is confident the 2022-23 season will be a revelation for the player.
