According to Spanish media outlet AS, former Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo is set to join La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid in what would be a blow to Real Madrid fans.
The report adds that Ronaldo’s representatives have made contact with Diego Simeone’s side and persuaded the Atletico Madrid manager to make a move for the player.
It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo would really make the move to Atletico Madrid after spending 9 years with Real Madrid, scoring 311 goals in 292 games.
Ronaldo is keen on leaving Manchester United this summer in order to play Champions League football. With Bayern Munich and Chelsea not interested in a move for the forward, it seems he might be heading to Atletico Madrid.
Ronaldo was linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon after his car was spotted at their stadium but he has taken to Instagram to deny rumours of a return to the Portuguese club.
