Marco Asensio has declared Real Madrid are ready for the season after he scored the second goal in the 2-0 victory over Juventus.

Asensio said: “It was a really good performance. We wanted to finish off on a high and we managed that. 

“We were up against a great side and the way we played and our intensity is approaching what we want to see this season. We’re ready for our first competitive game.
 
“It’s been a really good, tough pre-season, we’re on the right track. We have a squad full of experience and youth at the same time. 

“We’re excited to try and win as many trophies as possible this season and we’re preparing to do just that.”

He added: “We have to rest up for a couple of days once we get back and then we’ll start preparations for the Super Cup, our first title.”

Speaking about the fans, Asensio continued: “The support here is incredible, every time we come we feel so much affection. They really get behind us and we feel at home.”
