According to reports, Espanyol striker Raul de Tomas is keen on a return to Real Madrid this summer and will reject offers from other interested clubs.

The Spanish international has been linked with a move away from Catalonia after he netted 17 league goals at the RCDE Stadium last season and he could be tempted by the chance to play in the Champions League next season.

Reports from Diario AS claim the player is being considered as a replacement for Robert Lewandoski by Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich who are interested in submitting an offer for him.

Despite the transfer speculation, Espanyol president Domingo Catoira has claimed there has been no formal offers received for him.

“His performances in these last two years have led us to achieve important goals but we have not receive a bid”, as per reports from Mundo Deportivo.

However, as per reports from Diario AS, the 27-year-old is only interested in leaving Espanyol for Real Madrid.

The Spaniard came through the ranks at the club’s esteemed Castilla academy before enjoying productive loan spells at Cordoba, Real Valladolid and Rayo Vallecano before eventually signing for Portuguese giants Benfica in 2019. Six months later, he left Os Encarnados, joining Espanyol for a reported £20m.

The club hierarchy is keen on signing a new striker in the coming weeks as backup to Karim Bezema, but will bulk at Espanyol’s current €40m asking price.
