According to Spanish newspaper Nacional (via football365), Liverpool are determined to sign Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde.
Further details of the report claim Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing the Uruguayan to Anfield.
Valverde has made 104 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid since making his debut in 2017, and was impressive in the club’s La Liga title and Champions League wins last season.
The 24 year-old has always been deployed out of position and is not a guaranteed starter in Madrid, a situation Liverpool are looking to exploit.
The recent signing of Aurelin Tchouameni has put even more doubt onto Valverde’s future playing time.
Valverde’s versatility is another key reason he’s wanted by Klopp who was impressed with his performance in last season’s Champions League final against his side.
It remains to be seen if the club hierarchy will sanction the player’s exit if Liverpool make a move for him.
