According to reports, Real Madrid left-back Miguel Gutierrez is on the verge of leaving the club this summer.
The talented left-back who burst onto the scene under former Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane two seasons ago has been deemed surplus to requirements under Carlo Ancelotti.
Further details of the report claim the player was a transfer target for Spanish duo Getafe and Real Betis, but both sides were only willing to offer a loan deal for Gutierrez, while Real Madrid are looking to sell him permanently.
According to Mario Cortegana of Marca reports, the club is close to agreeing the sale of 50% of player’s rights to Catalan side Girona. The deal would include a buyback clause.
Despite his potential exit, Gutierrez has been excellent during his spell with the Real Madrid first team, although he suffered from injuries at the Castilla last season.
The player is down the pecking order in the left-back position as Ferland Mendy and David Alaba are now Ancelotti’s preferred options after Marcelo’s exit.
