According to Diario AS, Real Madrid summer signings Anthony Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni will start the new season as rotational players.

Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti has decided that both players will start on the bench this season.

Many had expected Rudiger to come straight into the Madrid line-up due to his defensive nous and experience. 

But manager Ancelotti is keen to continue with his central defensive partnership of David Alaba and Eder Militao. It was expected the Italian would move Alaba back to left-back to accommodate Rudiger, but  Ferland Mendy has been earmarked as the starting left-back.

It remains to be seen how long Ancelotti will continue with this tactical system.
