Fede Valverde has hailed Real Madrid defender David Alaba as a real leader for the young players in the Real Madrid squad.

Valverde’s praise for Alaba comes after the Austrian international scored the winner and was named man of the match as Real Madrid beat Almeria 2-1 on Sunday.

Valverde said about Alaba: “It’s almost as if he came on just for that.

“I’m thrilled for him because ever since he arrived he’s shown great character and been a real leader for the young players.”
