Real Madrid will reportedly battle German champions Bayern Munich for the signing of 20 year old midfielder Fabian Rieder.

Despite just being 20, Rieder is an important player for Swiss club Young Boys and has started the new season in brilliant form, scoring twice and assisting twice in just five games.

Real Madrid are already keeping a close eye on him according to Blick but have no plans to make an offer in the short term unless there are unexpected departures in midfield.

Bayern Munich chief scout, Pirmin Schwegler, has also travelled to Switzerland on several occasions to follow his progress closely.
