Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has sent a message to the Real Madrid board about his future following the exit of Casemiro to Manchester United.

According to media outlet AS, Modric reportedly wants to play for Real Madrid until he is 40 and is determined to fight for a contract extension at Real Madrid every season until then.

Modric turns 37 in September and his current Real Madrid deal expires next summer. The Croatian has started the season in brilliant form and is determined to prove he can continue to deliver at the highest level despite his age.

For now, it’s unclear what Real Madrid’s plan on Modric is. The club reportedly wants to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham as a replacement in 2023.
