After five years at Barcelona, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez triggered a release clause in the contract of Luis Figo to bring the Portugal international to Real Madrid in the summer of 2020.
Real Madrid paid a then world record fee of €62 million (£53m/$62m) to sign Figo.
Figo has revealed in an interview with Netflix that he made the right decision to leave Barcelona for Real Madrid.
Figo said: “If you were to ask me which team I’d prefer to be successful, I’d say Real Madrid.”
He added: “With everything I experienced at Madrid, I can say with 100% conviction that it was the right decision to join the club.”
