Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has pointed out English teams’ lack of success in Europe despite earning so much from TV while also blasting players who move to the Premier League for money alone.

Kroos’ words come after former Los Blancos team-mate Casemiro joined Manchester United on a four-year, £375,000-a-week deal in August.

Kroos told the OMR podcast: “TV money has been significantly higher in England for years and yet it hasn’t resulted in English teams winning everything.

“Thank God not all players look only at salary but also at winning many titles and to grow more.”
