Real Madrid will be without superstar striker Karim Benzema for their Champions League group stage battle against RB Leipzig on Wednesday, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed.
Benzema suffered a muscle injury in the 3-0 victory over Celtic in the Champions League last week and missed the 4-1 victory over Mallorca on Sunday.
In Tuesday’s press conference ahead of the Leipzig match, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti hinted that Benzema could possibly feature on Sunday in the Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid.
Ancelotti said: “He’s coming along well and there’s a chance he’ll be back for Sunday. He could play against Atlético if there are no doubts.”
