Reports emerged this week that Spanish rivals Barcelona are interested in signing Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Barcelona defender Eric Garcia, who is in Spain’s squad alongside Asensio, was asked if he would like to share a team with the Real Madrid and he replied: “Marco is a great player. He has a contract with Madrid and I can’t tell you more. It’s a pleasure to enjoy him here in the national team.”

When asked if Asensio joining Barcelona has been discussed in the Barcelona dressing room, he added: “If we had to laugh at the rumours that spread, we wouldn’t stop…. Those things stay there.”

Meanwhile, Asensio has responded to reports linking him with a move to Barcelona. He said: “Playing at the Camp Nou? I can’t answer you right now.”
