According to The Athletic, Real Madrid are one of the clubs interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham next summer.

Borussia Dortmund, who bought Bellingham from Championship side Birmingham City for an initial fee of £25million (now $28.5m), rising to £30million, reportedly value the England international at €150million.

Signing Bellingham for €150million would make him the most expensive British footballer in history. Bellingham has no release clause in his Borussia Dortmund contract.

Bellingham will have two years left on his contract next summer and Borussia Dortmund are expected to sell the 19 year old midfielder next summer.

With UK no longer in the EU, La Liga regulations only allow three non-EU players on the field. However, that situation was recently eased by Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior obtaining Spanish citizenship.

“Jude is very happy at the club, he is very committed to us,” Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl recently told BT Sport.

“Hopefully he can stay, next season and for a long time. We try to keep our best players. Jude is one of those and we try to keep them for as long as possible.

“But in the end, money is another aspect and England pays a lot more than Germany. We have to renew our philosophy every year.”
