Real Madrid are ready to compete with Premier League side Liverpool for the signature of Flamengo star Joao Gomes, according to 90min.

The 21 year old Brazilian midfielder has caught the attention of Real Madrid following a string of excellent performances at the club level. 

Gomes is a defensive midfielder and an excellent technician on the ball. This makes him a dynamic player capable of impressing for the best sides in world football. At 21, the Samba star also has time on his side and will only get better with age.

Flamengo are keen on keeping the midfielder amid interest in the midfielder. His wages were recently quadrupled with contract extended to 2027.
