Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Real Madrid are close to reaching an agreement over a new deal for Karim Benzema.

Benzema is currently in the final year of his Real Madrid contract and extending his contract is a priority for the club.

Benzema scored 27 goals in 32 La Liga games and 15 goals in 12 Champions League games as Real Madrid won the La Liga and Champions League last season.
