Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has paid special tribute to the Real Madrid stars who led the club to our 14th Champions League trophy last season.

“What we have experienced this year at the [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu will never be forgotten,” Perez said.

“Our players never give up, they are also madridistas and that mix makes us unbeatable. Those matches will remain in the collective memory of Real Madrid fans.

“The conquest of the fourteenth [Champions League title] was against one of the biggest clubs in Europe and I would like to congratulate them.

“Our players are already Real Madrid legends. There are five of them with five Champions League titles and five of them are in UEFA’s Champions League ideal XI. Five of them are also nominated for the Ballon d’Or.”
