Real Madrid star Eden Hazard was an unused substitute in Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Osasuna on Sunday, with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti preferring instead to bring on Mariano.

Explaining his decision to bring on Mariano and leave Hazard on the pitch, Ancelotti told reporters: “It was a game that needed a strong centre forward who was good in the air like Mariano, who had chances to score with his head.

“It wasn’t the right match for Hazard’s qualities.”
