Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has revealed he isn’t certain Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric will start Wednesday’s Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Modric missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Osasuna due to injury and only returned to training this week.

When asked if Modric will start against Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday, Ancelotti responded: “I’m not sure if Modrić will start the game.”

Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk football director Darijo Srna has hailed Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric as the best in the world.

Srna said as per Marca: “Modrić is a dear friend. It would be good if he won’t play vs Shakhtar, but I’d be sad because I want our players to play against Luka. He’s the best in the world and they can learn a lot from him.”
